Nonprofit organizations and other grantseekers on the Eastern Shore of Virginia looking for funding sources now have access to a valuable new collection of resources at Eastern Shore Public Library in Accomac, which has become a Funding Information Network partner with Foundation Center.

The Eastern Shore Public Library will hold two public information meetings with updated conceptual drawings on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. 

Colette Nelson recently received the “2017 Outstanding Community Leader” award from the Eastern Shore Center for Independent Living (ESCIL) because of her dedicated involvement with the Eastern Shore Public Library.

We are closing our greatest fiscal year since our founding in November 2009, thanks to the July 2016 capital campaign. But before I get to the highlights, there is one critical fact I must assert: everything that we achieved at the end of our last fiscal year on June 30, was thanks to the support and generosity of each one of you. 

The Eastern Shore Public Library’s summer reading program received some special help from BB&T volunteers through their Lighthouse Project.

ibrary Director Cara Burton is proud to announce that Eastern Shore Public Library Board Trustee Barbara Coady is this year’s winner of the Virginia Library Association’s Trustee Library Award.  This award recognizes the distinguished service to libraries or a library in Virginia.

A unique gift of appreciation was presented to Robert “Bob” S. Bloxom, Sr. and George N. McMath for their support of the new regional library by service as Honorary Chairs of the Eastern Shore Public Library Foundation’s capital campaign.

The Eastern Shore Public Library has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the PNC Foundation to support the planning and development of a new regional library.  

On April 30th Eastern Shore Public Library held an outdoor children’s festival at their future location in Parksley. “El Día de los Niños, El Día de los Libros” marked the traditional Mexican date of a national children’s day.

Mrs. Winifred Martin has recently become a Director on the Board of the Eastern Shore Public Library Foundation. Mrs. Martin, a resident of Eastville, Virginia, has a remarkable history as an artist and an advocate for cultural and environmental issues.

The Friends of the Cape Charles Memorial Library recently made a generous donation to the ESPL Foundation.

The Eastern Shore Public Library Board of Trustees is accepting proposals from Virginia-licensed architectural and engineering (A/E) firms to provide professional services related to the renovation and expansion of the Fresh Pride store located on 24313 Bennett Street, Parksley, VA 23421.
